Winter T&L Summit

Great news!! A grant written by ABAC's School of Education and Wellness Department Head, Dr. Melissa Baker and CPRESA Literacy Coach, Dr. Jessie Russell has been chosen by the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Learning and Literacy! Because of this $50,000 award, ten early career teachers in our region will receive in-depth professional learning, technology-enhanced feedback, and reflective literacy coaching sessions to improve practice and increase student achievement over the next several months. Thank you to the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for your generosity and belief in the collaborative work being done by ABAC and CPRESA!

Last month, Let's Read, Georgia! literacy coaches (Jessica Stone, Christie Sermons, and Dr. Jessie Russell) stopped by Nurtured Roots Learning Center in time to present owner Sara Sumner and her team with the best gifts of all...BOOKS! We have enjoyed partnering with NRLC to share interactive read alouds, discuss the importance of oral language on early literacy development, and share both formal and informal strategies for increasing students' vocabulary acquisition.

Today at CPRESA, ESOL teachers, administrators, and data gurus met with Noel Wilkinson and Dr. Meg Baker from GaDOE to Plan for English Learners' Success.

We look forward to seeing our Librarians tomorrow in Lenox at Coastal Plains RESA at 9:00 a.m. for a day of professional learning and sharing.

CPRESA Executive Director Wes Taylor is excited to share the new CPRESA website and social media platform.
